‘Skill important for performance management’ – Punch Newspapers

The Manager, OutsideIn Human Relations, Mr Joshua Ademuwagun, has said that businesses, organisations and even nations are a reflection of the individual performance of members.

He stated this while facilitating a training exercise organised by the Nigerian-American Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with OutsideIn HR, themed “Managing and Motivating Performance.”

The training held in Lagos attracted business professionals, team leaders and managers who were keen to learn new ways to grow and manage individual and organisational performance levels in order to achieve business goals and stay ahead of their competitors, a statement noted on Thursday.

Ademuwagun was quoted as saying that the theory of performance had made it essential for managers to study their employees and be able to execute strategies aimed at effectively channelling energies and skills towards achieving organisational goals.

The Director-General, NACC, Mrs Joyce Akpata, who was represented by the Director, Membership and Events, Mr Lekan Egunjobi, said that a successful business was the one that could effectively manage its human resources to achieve its goals.

She said performance could be learnt and transferred from one person/organisation/nation to the other, adding, “If you can raise the level of effort and performance in those around you, you are officially a leader.”
