The weather is starting to cool, but the summer heat is still on for these 18 tech leaders with new positions in Chicago. Find out who went where, and what they’re up to, in our roundup of this month’s leadership changes.

Logistics technology provider project44, topped this month’s hiring charts with four new executive additions. The company has had a busy year, having recently opened a new 42,000-square-foot office and raised $35 million in funding last quarter.

Andrew Grygiel

chief marketing officer

Andrew Grygiel was named project44’s chief marketing officer, a role in which he will preside over the company’s brand strategy, global integrated marketing and corporate communications. He has decades of experience in SaaS solutions, data integration and cloud technology. He was the former senior VP of marketing at Uptake.

 

Jeanette Johnson

Vice President of People

Jeanette Johnson, the former VP of people at retail data firm SPINS, assumes an identical title at project44. Johnson will use her two decades of experience scaling human resource infrastructure to evolve the company’s recruitment strategies as it hires 200 new team members. 

 

Vernon O’Donnell

chief customer officer

Vernon O’Donnell also carries his title from another company, moving from the chief customer officer spot at STATS to the same position at project44. He has experience working in user-focused areas within emerging tech companies, and will foster new customer engagement strategies in his new role. 

 

Mateen Khadir

vice president of product

The company’s new vice president of product is Mateen Khadir, who has 15 years of product leading experience earned at Accenture, Relativity and Oracle-Textura. He will evolve project44’s current product portfolio to include new products and develop existing ones. 

 

Matthew Gold

CHIEF STRATEGY OFFICER

Cars.com, the digital platform for buying and selling vehicles, appointed former YouTube Head of Strategy and Operations Matthew Gold as its new chief strategy officer. Gold will work to align all of Cars.com’s brands and develop the company’s long-term growth strategies.

 

Ira Bell

chief technology officer

Microsoft Azure-based IT solutions provider 10th Magnitude named Ira Bell as chief technology officer. He will draw on his 20 years of experience as an IT team leader, having most recently worked at job board software company Recruit Media to develop the company’s portfolio. 

 

Chris Kryder

Executive Chairman

Healthtech company higi added Chris Kryder to its board of directors. Kryder, a medical doctor by training, is the founder of healthcare data solutions company D2Hawkeye and most served as chairman of Valence Health.

 

Adrian Slobin

Chief executive officer

Digital consultancy The Nerdery has appointed Adrian Slobin as its new CEO. Slobin spent 17 years at SapientNitro as head of business transformation services, adding to his extensive client relationship-building experience. He will lead The Nerdery through its next phase of growth. 

 

Asif Ahmed

vice president of analytics

Data provider Infutor Data Systems appointed Asif Ahmed as its new vice president of analytics. Ahmed was formerly vice president of product management at analytics company Aginity Inc, and has experience cultivating enterprise solutions for warehousing, big data and e-commerce. 

 

David Rush

chief of revenue

Call analytics solutions provider DialogTech named David Rush as its new chief of revenue. Rush will be responsible for overseeing the company’s business development efforts, using his 25 years of entrepreneurial and sales experience. He was most recently co-founder and CEO of social media analytics firm Earshot.
 

Viji Davis

senior vice president of marketing

DialogTech’s new senior vice president of marketing is the former chief marketing officer at media agency Resolution. Viji Davis brings 15 years of agency experience to her new role, where she will lead the company’s market strategy as it continues to scale. 

 

Jim Stewart

SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT AND CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Fusion Risk Management, a SaaS provider that helps companies plan for and manage emergency situations, named Jim Stewart as senior vice president and chief financial officer. The former CFO at online education platform Edmentum has 20 years of experience in financial management, and will be tasked with managing Fusion’s operations and financial planning.

 

Lori McInerney

Chief Marketing Officer

Lori McInerney, the former vice president of marketing at Shiftgig and a 10 year veteran of CareerBuilder, is now the new chief marketing officer at ophthalmology tech company Opternative. She is tasked with expanding the company’s global awareness and acquiring new business. 

 

Lindsay Corby

BOARD OF DIRECTORS, INDEPENDENT DIRECTOR

Professional services firm InnerWorkings added Lindsay Corby to its board as independent director. Corby is the chief financial officer and executive vice president of Byline Bank.

 

Jack Greenberg

InnerWorkings chose Jack Greenberg, its lead independent director, to act as chairman of its board of directors — a position he has held before at the company. His appointment will be official following InnerWorkings’ annual shareholder meeting on September 6.

 

Adam Gutstein

BOARD OF DIRECTORS, INDEPENDENT DIRECTOR

InnerWorkings also welcomed Adam Gutstein to its board of directors, again. He served the company in the same capacity in 2010 and will officially start his second tenure on October 1.

 

Florian Bezault

chief financial officer

Maestro Health, an employee benefits technology platform and service provider, named Florian Bezault as chief financial officer. The former head of care coordination at AXA Mexico will lead the company’s financial planning, analysis and forecasting, using his corporate finance and investor relations experience.

 

Michael Morrison

Senior vice president of sales

Automotive marketing firm LotLinx appointed Michael Morrison as senior vice president of sales. Morrison, who has 10 years of sales leadership experience, will cultivate the company’s digital marketing efforts and foster further sales growth.
