The 2019 New York Festivals (NYF) TV and Films Awards is now open for nominations. The prestigious ceremony has honored notable TV and film productions which substantially contribute to humanity as well as tackle pressing global problems and their corresponding solutions.
For instance, one of the five Grand Awards for 2018 was given to National Geographic’s production of ‘Jane’ and ‘Diana: In Her Own Words’ by 1895 Films.
‘Mosul,’ a joint production of Mongoose Pictures, C4, and Frontline PBS, was also a Grand Awardee. In addition, Al Jazeera English, Qatar, received the 2018 Broadcaster of the Year Award.
Rose Anderson, the NYF International Television and Film Awards VP and Executive Director, described the event. She said that the committee assesses and improves their awards categories every year to stay up-to-date.
Anderson disclosed that for this year, they had expanded the honors for brand image campaigns. They’ve introduced new categories across content areas as well.
She said that the committee welcomes all genres that cater to different kinds of audiences and storytelling from all platform types.
With eSports coverage significantly rising worldwide, NYF’s inaugural eSports categories comprise eSports coverage, eSports journalism, eSports special, eSports reporter, digital short-form eSports, and eSports competition newscast.
Meanwhile, the updated Corporate Image categories for 2019 NYF include Branded Content, Public Relations & Social Engagement, Brand Image, CSR not-for-profit, and Attitudinal Training.
Also included in this category are Digital Short-Form Branded Entertainment, Employee Engagement, and Branded Documentary Film.
Telenovela Promotion, Human Rights Documentary, Digital Short-Form Music Video, and Student Documentary are the other new categories added in the roster.
The deadline for the submission of nominees is on October 15, 2018. All competition details, including rules and regulations, are displayed on the website: www.newyorkfestivals.com/tvfilm/.
The nominees will be screened and evaluated online by the NYF jury of international producers, writers, directors, and other creative media professionals.
The NYF International Television and Film Awards will be held on April 9, 2019, at the yearly National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Since its launching in 1957, the NYF Television and Film Awards contest has recognized storytelling from various platforms. The competition also honors outstanding material by international content producers.
